Developed from a hybrid of Clementine and Orlando tangelo, Nova mandarin is a highly productive variety with vigorous tree growth. Its glossy leaves, thorny branches, and cold tolerance have made it increasingly popular in the Eastern Mediterranean. Although the peel is tightly attached to the flesh and not as easy to remove, the fruit is valued for its juicy, aromatic, and high-quality flesh. Nova can remain on the tree for a long period without losing quality, and unlike Satsuma types, it does not suffer from puffiness, making it highly attractive to both growers and consumers.
