Belonging to the Washington Navel group, Cara Cara is a seedless orange variety known for its distinctive internal color. Medium to large in size, the fruit is round with a smooth, evenly colored peel of medium thickness. Its most striking feature is the pink to red flesh, a result of the natural presence of lycopene pigment. The flesh is firm, low in fiber, highly juicy, and offers a sweet, aromatic flavor with lower acidity compared to classic Washington Navel, resulting in a milder and sweeter taste. Seedless and easy to peel, Cara Cara is highly appreciated for fresh consumption and is also valued in premium juice production. Harvest typically takes place from December to February.
