This plant thrives in mild climates. It usually lives 30 years. It is cultivated most in Bursa and the Mediterranean Region in Turkey. Its fruit can either be consumed fresh or used to extract nectar. The economic value of this fruit is high and is consumed extensively. The tree height is generally 2 to 2.5 meters and bears fruit in the summer season. It is not freeze resistant.
